Register for the Conference

Everyone who plans to attend PLoP needs to register for the conference. This includes authors, students, staff, volunteers and Hillside members.We strongly encourage early registration for better room arrangements. Contact Indu Alagarsamy or Michael Salé with any questions.

The Hillside organization is a nonprofit that does not have funding for PLoP travel,
registration, and lodging. All attendees are responsible for these costs.

After registering for the conference, you will receive a confirmation email. If you don’t receive the confirmation email, please contact the chairs. PLEASE CHECK YOUR INBOX SPAM FOR THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

*Attendees are responsible for making their own lodging reservations and transportation arrangements. The registration confirmation email will contain hotel reservation details. Hotel reservations are on a first come first serve basis and will be closed when we have reached the maximum capacity.

Conference Fees

The conference registration includes:

  • Conference costs (social events and most things at conference such as refreshments;
    there will occasionally be cash bar costs for attendees)
  • Meals (morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner) and beverages
    Monday dinner is on your own so you can explore the local food establishments

The registration does not cover lodging, phone calls, or transportation.

Lodging Fees

Attendees are responsible for:

  • On-site accommodation for the conference duration
  • Room Rates are USD $219 for single or double occupancy (+resort fee, occupancy tax and Washington state tax)

Guests who want to stay before or after the conference will be able to book additional lodging and pay for any meals. If you plan to stay for extra days, before or after the conference, you will need to make those room arrangements directly with Skamania Lodge. The PLoP discounted rates are applicable 3 days before or after the conference dates. However this is based on the room availability for those dates.

Cancellation, Refund, and No-Show Policy

Cancellations may be made up until September 10, 2025. A refund will be issued (minus a $100 cancellation fee) within 4 weeks following the end of the conference. There is no refund for cancellations after September 10, 2025.

At any time you may transfer your registration to another person. To do this, email a confirmation note authorizing the person to attend in your place. Both parties will be contacted via email or phone to verify transfer of registration.

“No-shows” are not refundable and are liable for the full registration fee. If you cannot attend, and it is past the refund date, then consider transferring your registration to another person.

Code of Health Conduct

One hallmark of a resilient and sturdy community working closely together is shared concern for the health and well-being of its members. The PLoP conference at Skamania Lodge requires conference participants to closely interact for several days. As a community we feel a responsibility to safeguard the health of our members during PLoP, and therefore the organizers of PLoP require each conference participant to affirm that they will monitor their own health carefully. If symptoms consistent with CoViD or other contagious illnesses are observed, attendees agree that they will either self-isolate or wear a mask for the remainder of the conference.

CoViD test kits and masks will be provided at the conference. Workshop leaders are permitted to establish health policies for their own workshops.
