This year the PLoP conference is hosted at Skamania Lodge, near Stevenson, Washington, USA in the scenic Columbia River Gorge.

Skamania Lodge is a peaceful resort located just 45 minutes from Portland, Oregon, USA. Enjoy the majestic setting in the Columbia River Gorge, where you will find tranquil views, relaxing surroundings, hiking trails, and the spectacular scenery of the Columbia River and Cascade Mountains. The trail system at Skamania Lodge offers over four miles of nature trails.

Reservations

Hotel room and ground transportation fees are separate and not included in the PLoP 2024 Conference registration fees.

After you register for the conference, you will receive an email from PLoP with room reservation instructions, links, and the hotel block rate code. Please wait until you receive this email before making your room reservations at Skamania.

When to Arrive
and Depart

Please plan to arrive at the venue around noon, Sunday, October 13. The conference will start at 2:00 pm at the Skamania Conference Center with activities scheduled for both newcomers and experienced PLoP attendees. Dinner will be provided on Sunday.

The conference ends on Wednesday, October 16th at noon. Lunch will be provided. If you check out that morning, you may leave your bags at the front desk to attend Wednesday morning events.

If you choose to arrive early or stay longer, PLoP 2024 discounted lodging rates will apply for 3 days prior and 3 days after the official conference dates.

How to Get to Skamania Lodge

The nearest International airport is Portland International Airport (PDX). From PDX you can reserve a rental car or take a taxi.

For those wishing to experience more of the Pacific Northwest scenery, another option is to fly in to Seattle International Airport (SEA) and drive to Skamania Lodge from there.

The approximate driving times to Skamania Lodge are as follows:

Portland International Airport – 45 Minutes
Hood River, Oregon – 35 Minutes
Seattle, Washington – 3.5 Hours

Attendees are responsible for ground transportation to and from the conference.
